Optical Retail Assistant – No Optical Experience Needed

Location: Margate, Redcliffe Peninsula
Hours: Thursday evenings + Saturdays (ideal for students)

Dwyer & Ross Optometry has been providing trusted family eye care for over 60 years, helping our patients see and feel their best. We’re now looking for a friendly, intelligent and enthusiastic team member to join us in a part-time retail role.

This is a great opportunity for a high school or university student looking for meaningful, flexible work in a professional healthcare environment – with real training and career pathways available for the right person.

No optical experience? No problem. If you bring strong customer service skills, we’ll teach you everything you need to know.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Welcoming patients and providing a warm, professional front desk experience
• Processing sales, EFTPOS, HICAPS and basic banking transactions
• Assisting customers in selecting frames with confidence and style guidance
• Learning our systems and developing problem-solving skills on the job
• Supporting the team to ensure smooth day-to-day clinic operations

What We’re Looking For

• A genuine passion for customer service and helping people
• A bright, curious mind with strong communication skills
• Confidence with basic maths and attention to detail
• An eye for style and interest in fashion or design (a bonus, not essential)
• Someone reliable, proactive, and comfortable in a busy environment
