Retail Practice Manager / Optical Dispenser - Wills Street Eyecare

Wills Street Eyecare is a respected independent optometry practice in Bendigo, providing high quality clinical care and eyewear to the local community.

We’re seeking an experienced Retail Practice Manager to lead the daily operations of both the health and retail sides of the business.

This is a dual-focus leadership role.   You will be actively joining the dispensing team in providing reception services, eyewear selection, ordering and fitting of eyewear to our patients, along with supporting the practice principals in daily operations of the business.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and support the dispensing team in providing reception services and eyewear dispensing
• Learn and provide optical dispensing services alongside the team
• Lead daily practice operations, ensuring smooth workflow and customer service
• Manage product ordering, stock control, supplier relationships, and retail display standards
• Assist optometrists and support patient care delivery
• Track expenses and manage accounts payable and receivable
• Ensure compliance with employment law and building regulations
• Contribute to operational improvements and assist practice principals as needed

• Management and leadership experience, preferably in retail, health, or a small business
• Strong organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Proactive mindset with the ability to identify and act on improvement opportunities
• Reliable, consistent approach aligned with team and patient values
• Experience as an Optical Dispenser  desirable but not essential
