Optical Assistant (Casual) - On Point Optical, Glebe

On Point Optical is a brand-new independent practice opening in the heart of Glebe. We’re passionate about delivering exceptional eyecare and eyewear, and we’re looking for a friendly, motivated Optical Assistant to join our team on a casual basis.

About the Role

• Casual position: Saturdays 9am-1pm (with potential for additional hours).
• Hourly rate: $30.91-$37.10 (commensurate with experience).
• Perfect for a student or someone looking to grow into the optical industry.

What You’ll Do

• Provide welcoming, patient focused service at the front of house.
• Assist with eyewear selection and basic dispensing support.
• Contribute to a smooth, professional patient journey.
• Learn and grow in a supportive environment alongside experienced optometrists and dispensers.

What We’re Looking For

• Previous experience in health, retail, or customer service (especially in a technical role) is highly regarded.
• A positive, “never stop learning” attitude - open to growth and asking questions.
• Passionate about helping people live their best through quality eyewear and eyecare.
• Friendly, efficient, and a true team player.
• Language skills in Mandarin, Cantonese, or Korean will be a great advantage.
