About you

Previous experience working in the optical industry is highly valued. You will have a passion to deliver excellent customer service with a flair for fashion and a keen interest in sales. 

A high level of competency in taking measurements (such as multifocal fitting heights, PDs and adjusting frames) is essential.

• Excellent people skills to assist patients to select frames and lenses
• Good product knowledge of lens types, including multifocal and office lenses
• Experience in processing claims using HiCAPS, with good knowledge of health funds and an understanding of item numbers
• Ability and willingness to learn
• High attention to detail
• Understanding of the importance of privacy and confidentiality
• Professional appearance befitting a middle to high end boutique practice
• Punctuality

About the position

The position is part time including Saturday mornings and will include 2 weekdays. No late night work is required. Close proximity to a major railway station (3 minute walk) and parking facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service with a friendly, positive demeanour
• Show initiative and be a great team player
• Demonstrate good attention to detail
• Advocate best practice and adherence of Company policies
• General practice administration and reception duties will also form part of the role, including ordering spectacles and contact lenses

Skills and experience

• Experience with Sunix Practice Management software preferred
• Proven experience working in a retail environment
• Outstanding communication skills, an organised and detailed approach to work flow as well as a love of working with people are key
• Strong organisational and problem-solving skills, with sound judgement
