Kevin Hackett Optometrist is a well-established and successful independent practice, operating in Geraldton for over 40 years. We are known for providing high quality eyewear and exceptional customer service to the community of Geraldton and the Northwest. 

This is a critical role in our practice. As an Optical Assistant, you will be the first person our patients and customers are in contact with, therefore you will need to present a friendly, professional image and represent the ideals and culture of our practice. There will be further growth opportunities in practice as you are exposed to the day-to-day functions of our practice.

About the role

As an Optical Assistant at Kevin Hackett Optometrist, you will:

• Have worked in a similar role, ideally within the medical profession (experience in Optics is desired but not essential)
• Have a high level of customer / patient contact
• Work with the team to provide personalised solutions for our patients
• Have a high level of attention to detail and professionalism
• Handle all phone calls, including appointments and enquiries
• Handle invoices and banking
• General office and reception duties
• Utilise our Practice Management Software as well as Microsoft Office and Outlook

Both a Full time and Part time role will be considered.

Skills and experience

The successful candidate will have:

• Optical experience will be highly regarded, however we will provide training and a new opportunity for someone looking for a career change
• Reception experience is desirable, preferably in the medical industry
• Exceptional people, customer service and retail skills to communicate with a broad range of people
• Superior problem solving, organisational and planning skills
• Strong computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office and Outlook
• Flexibility to work Saturday mornings, extra days and hours when required
• A dedication to put our patients first, ensuring their needs are met
• Motivation and enthusiasm to go the extra mile
