Optometrist - Total Eyecare TasmaniaReady for a career that gives you both clinical freedom and an incredible lifestyle? At Total Eyecare, we’re proudly independent, non-corporate, and passionate about full-scope optometry. We’re looking for an experienced Optometrist to join our team in Hobart and surrounds - where world-class patient care meets one of the most liveable (and loveable) locations in Australia.
What’s on Offer- Work across 2 of our 8 well-equipped practices in Hobart and surrounds.
- Flexible role - ideally part-time, with scope for full-time if desired.
- Full-scope optometry with OCT, visual fields, retinal cameras in all locations, plus advanced tech (widefield, topographer, ortho-K, Rexon) in central hubs.
- 30-60 minute consults + daily admin/emergency time - designed for quality care, not volume.
- Strong dispenser support, so you can stay focused on patients.
- No late nights or Sundays - just 1 in 3 Saturday mornings (9am–1pm).
- Outreach opportunities available for those interested.
- Competitive salary + relocation support (if applicable).
Why Total Eyecare?- Clinical freedom: We’re independent, so you’ll have the autonomy to practice optometry the way it should be - with the patient, not KPIs, at the centre.
- Supportive culture: Work alongside experienced colleagues in a collaborative, friendly environment.
- Professional growth: We encourage CPD, special interests, and clinical development, and will support you to follow your areas of passion.
- Tasmania lifestyle: Hobart is a city that punches well above its weight - think short commutes, a buzzing food and arts scene, and some of the world’s best hiking, wilderness, and coastlines right on your doorstep. Work in the morning, explore a mountain in the afternoon.
About You- At least 2 years’ optometry experience.
- A collaborative team player who values independence and long-term patient relationships.
- Keen to contribute to a practice that’s part of its community.
How to ApplyIf you’re ready for the next step in your career - with real autonomy, strong support, and an enviable lifestyle - we’d love to hear from you. |
