Optical Dispenser – Full Time

Bassendean Optical is looking for a Full-Time Optical Dispenser to join our experienced team. This role offers the opportunity to be part of a practice that focuses on patient outcomes, with exposure to vision therapy support as part of a structured internal learning pathway for the right person. We’re a long-standing community practice known for taking the time to understand each patient properly and delivering thoughtful, personalised eye care.

The role

You’ll play a key part in delivering a high-quality dispensing experience, working closely with our optometrists to support patient outcomes.

In this role, you will:

• Assist patients with frame and lens selection tailored to their needs and lifestyle
• Provide clear guidance and education throughout the eyewear journey
• Support a smooth and well-organised dispensing workflow
• Contribute to a patient experience that prioritises outcomes over speed (it is a very fast paced environment and I would probably not make mention of speed)

About you

We’re looking for someone who is confident, curious, and genuinely people focused.

Ideally, you will have:

• Experience in optical dispensing (or strong transferable retail/healthcare experience)
• Strong communication skills and a calm, patient approach
• Interest in learning and developing within specialised areas of practice
• Ability to learn systems quickly, such as Optomate Touch
• Availability for alternating Saturday mornings (8:30am–1:00pm)
