Optometrist Opportunity (Full-Time, Part-Time or Maternity Leave Cover)
Wilson Family Optometrists | Nambour, Sunshine Coast

Wilson Family Optometrists is a well-established independent practice in Nambour, known for delivering thoughtful, high-quality eye care to our local community. Our team is approachable, collaborative, and genuinely invested in patient outcomes - and we’re continuing to grow.

We’re open-minded in our approach to this hire and welcome applications from optometrists seeking full-time, part-time, or maternity leave cover arrangements.

About the Role

This is a full-scope clinical role within a supportive and experienced team, working with a diverse patient base and a broad range of presentations.

You’ll be part of a genuinely collaborative environment - the kind where people step in without being asked and the day runs smoothly because of it.

Clinical Environment

This is a practice set up to support considered, clinical decision-making, not rushed volume.

You’ll have access to:

  • OCT and fundus imaging for confident posterior eye assessment
  • Humphrey Visual Field Analyser (HFA) for glaucoma and neurological workups
  • IPL and Blephasteam as part of a growing and well-supported dry eye clinic

There is strong patient demand in dry eye, with systems already in place - giving you the opportunity to build real capability in this space, rather than just occasional exposure.

Skills & Experience

  • Minimum 1 year of clinical experience (not suitable for new graduates)
  • Relevant Optometry qualification (AU/NZ or equivalent)
  • Therapeutic endorsement
  • Current OA membership and professional indemnity insurance (or equivalent)

You’ll also be comfortable contributing to the broader patient experience when needed - this is a team where everyone plays a part in keeping things running well.

A Bit About You

  • You’re clinically curious and take pride in delivering thorough care
  • You adapt your communication and approach to suit each patient
  • You’re happy to step in and support the team when needed
  • You’re looking for a role where you can keep building your skills, not plateau

Our Culture

We prioritise ethical, compassionate, and personalised care. Our patients come from a wide range of backgrounds, and we take the time to ensure each person feels comfortable, understood, and genuinely looked after.

Our team is long-standing, and that continuity matters - both to us and to our patients. There’s a strong sense of familiarity and trust within the practice, which makes for a grounded and supportive place to work.
