Casual Opportunity with Ongoing Potential

If you enjoy getting to know your patients, working closely with your Optometrist, and being part of a small independent practice, this could be the opportunity you've been looking for.

Care Optometry Practice is a community-focused independent practice in Butler, WA, focused on creating a warm, personalised experience where patients feel genuinely cared for from the moment they walk through the door.

We're seeking a casual Optical Assistant / Optical Dispenser who enjoys variety, values flexibility, and is looking to join a supportive independent practice. With immediate shifts available and the opportunity for ongoing regular work, this is an excellent opportunity to become part of a small team where your contribution is genuinely valued.

As a single Optometrist practice, this role is ideal for someone who enjoys working closely with patients, thrives in a collaborative environment, and is confident supporting the day-to-day flow of the practice alongside the Optometrist.

The Opportunity

This is a hands-on role combining patient care, reception, and optical dispensing support.

You'll enjoy building genuine relationships with patients while helping create a smooth, welcoming, and organised experience throughout the day.

Your responsibilities may include:

  • Optical dispensing and frame styling
  • Supporting patients with lens selections and adjustments
  • Managing appointments, recalls, and administration
  • Working closely alongside the Optometrist
  • Assisting with the day-to-day flow of the practice
  • Creating a calm, welcoming, and professional patient experience

About You

We're looking for someone who is warm, organised, proactive, and enjoys being part of a close-knit team.

Ideally, you'll bring:

  • Optical dispensing or Optical Assistant experience
A friendly and professional communication style
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
    Confidence managing competing priorities
    Experience with Optomate Touch (desirable)
A genuine passion for patient care and independent optometry

What's on Offer

  • Immediate shifts available
  • Opportunity for ongoing casual work with potential regular hours
  • Flexible working arrangements
  • Supportive independent practice environment
  • Close collaboration with the practice owner and Optometrist
  • Variety across dispensing, reception, and patient care
  • No corporate KPIs or high-pressure sales culture

At the heart of our practice is a belief in genuine care—for our patients and for one another. Whether you're looking to complement your current commitments or hoping to build more regular hours over time, you'll be joining a small independent practice where your contribution is genuinely valued, your relationships with patients matter, and flexibility is part of our culture.
