Hunters Hill Optical is creating an opportunity for an experienced Optometrist to establish a patient base within a growing independent practice.

The role will initially be one day per week, ideally Thursday, with the possibility of adding Friday and further days as demand develops. With a dedicated children’s clinic being established next door, there is genuine scope for the position to evolve alongside the practice.

Shape your clinical contribution

You’ll provide general optometry while working alongside an experienced owner/Optometrist and established optical team.

You don’t need to arrive with experience in every clinical area. Depending on your interests, there will be opportunities to become involved in:

• Children’s vision and myopia management
• Dry eye assessment and management
• Ortho-K and RGP contact lenses
• Collaborative care with local GPs and ophthalmologists

The practice is equipped with OCT, corneal topography, IPL and lid-expression capabilities. As the children’s clinic develops, you may also build your experience in paediatric optometry if this is an area you would like to pursue.

About you

You’ll have at least two years’ post-graduate clinical experience and be confident practising with an appropriate level of independence.

Therapeutic endorsement is preferred, along with:

• A thorough and patient-centred clinical approach
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• An interest in working collaboratively across the patient journey
• Curiosity and a desire to develop your clinical capabilities
• A genuine interest in contributing to an independent practice as it grows
